Who qualifies for a Trade account?
The program is intended for active interior designers, decorators, architects, specifiers, builders, contractors, professional painters, decorative applicators, and qualified commercial project teams. We may request a website, portfolio, license, credential, or business documentation to verify the professional activity.
How does preferred pricing work?
Approved accounts receive preferred pricing on eligible products and services. Pricing can vary by item, service, and project order rather than applying as one published rate to everything. Account-use instructions are provided when the application is approved.
Are samples complimentary for Trade accounts?
Our Chips, Brushouts, Test Pots, palettes, and Fandecks are physically painted and are generally sold rather than distributed as unlimited complimentary materials. Eligible sample products may receive preferred trade pricing, and project-specific sample support can be discussed with our team.
Can you match another manufacturer’s color?
Yes. We can create custom colors in most Paint Laboratory products from another manufacturer’s physical color sample or from other representative materials. Physical references provide a more reliable basis than photographs or screen values. Matching fees and product minimums may apply.
Do you develop custom specialty finishes?
Yes, for qualified Trade projects. Finish development is more involved than standard color matching and is reviewed according to the desired visual result, selected coating system, substrate, sample requirements, quantity, and project timeline.
Can a Trade account be tax exempt?
Applicable resale or tax-exempt documentation can be reviewed and added to the account where permitted. The account holder is responsible for supplying complete and current documentation before a tax-exempt purchase is processed.
Can you support projects outside Seattle?
Yes. Products and physical samples ship nationwide, and project guidance and digital consultation are available remotely. In-person consultation is limited to Seattle and surrounding communities.
How should custom colors be reordered?
Provide the original order number, client or project name, product, sheen, and custom-color reference whenever possible. Approved custom colors are retained with a formula and physical painted standard so later production can be checked against the original result.
